We have just started the process to see if there is more to what we can do for SalonCon this year than tea.

I am overwhelmed with the kindness and generousity of the people who are helping us with this (you know who you are). Keep watch, and keep your fingers crossed.

We're hoping we'll be seeing you. We'll need your support.

I just bought mine, have you bought yours?

Our very own catvalente is doing *amazing* with this book. Let's help her do even better! Besides, who doesn't want to read gorgeous prose about tattoos, sex, and trains?

Gentle readers,

If you were lucky enough to hear Ms. Valente (catvalente) read at our last convention, you *definately* won't want to miss the full experience here.

Who will be attending? I plan to.

oxoxo,

Palimpsest is a lush, decadent and evocative tale of a sexually
transmitted city. By connecting through passion and desire, a new
world opens up. Between life and death, dreaming and waking, at the
train stop beyond the end of the world is the city of Palimpsest. To
get there is a miracle, a mystery, a gift, and a curse -- a voyage
permitted only to those who've always believed there's another world
than the one that meets the eye. Those fated to make the passage are
marked forever by a map of that wondrous city tattooed on their flesh
after a single orgasmic night. To this kingdom of ghost trains,
lion-priests, living kanji, and cream-filled canals come four
travelers: Oleg, a New York locksmith; the beekeeper November;
Ludovico, a binder of rare books; and a young Japanese woman named
Sei. They've each lost something important -- a wife, a lover, a
sister, a direction in life—and what they will find in Palimpsest is
more than they could ever imagine.

The world of Palimpsest is attached to our own, here and now--and so a
group of extraordinary performers have come together for one night to
bring Palimpsest to life.

If you want to bear witness to this unique event, watch amazing
performances, get your own copy of Palimpsest, dress to
extravagance...mark your calendars now!

SalonCon 2009 Announcement [Jan. 30th, 2009|10:53 am]
The Victorian Era for the 21st Century

corvaxgirl
Gentle readers,

The staff and I have been discussing 2009, and the honest truth is, unfortunately I don't have it in me. I'm completely exhausted from a variety of personal reasons and I just don't have the ability to make it go this year.

I know that potentially that could signal the end of SalonCon, and while I hate disappointing all of you who have been so kind to us throughout the years, I would rather go out on top with interviews by MTV and The New York Times than go out a shadow of what we were.

We are still in the planning stages for a SalonCon charity tea at Teaberry's. We will have details on that within the next month or so.

We appreciate all the love and kindness and support you've given us and we're happy that we've had a chance to be a part of people's dreamscape, if even for a fleeting bit.

with love,
Deborah
